We\u2019re showcasing the best of the <strong>Cape Whale Coast\u2019s<\/strong> outdoor and adventure events and we can\u2019t wait for you to come and explore our gorgeous part of the Cape with us. If you\u2019ve ever needed an excuse to pack up your gear and road trip, here are <strong>5 great performance and sports events that\u2019ll have you racing to the Cape Whale Coast<\/strong> in the next few months.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n1.<\/strong><strong> Stanford MTB Classic<br \/>\n<\/strong>When: 16-17 February<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re looking to explore 2 stages of around 45km each, and you\u2019re new to multi-stage events (not MTB itself), this non-competitive weekend is just what you need. Lighthouse to Lighthouse Marathon<br \/>\n<\/strong>When: 23 &#8211; 24 February<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf you\u2019re looking to ride a unique MTB experience in 2019, then the Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse is the event for you. On 23 &amp; 24 February, 2019, enter as a 2-man team or single rider on this two-day event. Hosted by The Lions of Gansbaai, the L2L has been running for 18 years with all proceeds going to charity projects in the Southern Cape.\u201d<\/em> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cycleevents.co.za\/mtb-events\/lighthouse-2-lighthouse-2-day-mtb-2019\/#more-20355\">More info here. <\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n3. Stanford River Festival<br \/>\n<\/strong>When: 2 March<\/p>\n<p>Join us for our annual river festival right here in the village. Organised by the Stanford Canoe Club, the even marks the opening of the Western Province Canoe Club season. With around 20km to paddle, kayak or SUP the event is a great day out for water enthusiasts and families alike. Come cheer on the riders as they complete 112km on the first day before heading off for an 86km trek to Oak Valley Estate. It\u2019s not called the EPIC for nothing! <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cape-epic.com\/riders\/the-2019-race\/2019-route\">More info here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n5. Hi-Tec <\/strong><strong>Walkerbay Extreme<br \/>\n<\/strong>When: 26-28 April<\/p>\n<p>Something for everyone\u2019s adrenalin needs at this epic sports adventure weekend in and around Hermanus. <em>\u201cThe event features a host of sporting activities from running, swimming and cycling to functional fitness, paddling and SUPing.\u201d<\/em> Spectators and families alike enjoy the atmosphere while cheering at these multi-disciplinary events.
